Dream Analysis

Our window to the unconscious

A dream which is not interpreted is like a letter which is not read.

~ The Talmud

Our dreams speak to us in strange languages, but working on interpreting them can help us connect to our unconscious and better understand ourselves. Exploring the symbols and hidden meanings of our dreams can help us better understand our fears, desires, and personal struggles. By exploring our dreams, we can uncover unconscious thoughts and feelings that impact our waking life.

Often, dreams can be understood well through an Internal Family Systems lens, especially when we examine the various characters in our dreams as parts of ourselves. Perhaps there is a recurring theme or event that occurs, our task is to build an understanding of what message our unconscious is trying to send us so we may operate in better cohesion.

Often, when we start interpreting our dreams in therapy, we start to have more frequent and vivid dreams. As we work more and more with our unconscious, we can release emotional energy, identify coping mechanisms, sleep better, and experience a more enjoyable dreamworld.
